Tiny leaves are out
on every tree I can see,
fearless flames of green.
(The Poetry Thursday "completely and totally optional"
prompt this week was to write a villanelle.
To which my muse responded, "Yeah, right.")

This was exquisite, Shelley... loved the "flames of green."
ReplyDeleteYour response to this week's prompt is priceless- hee hee.
Oh, I love haiku and this one was really nice. A new way to look at spring.
ReplyDelete[insert snort here] I appreciate various poetry forms, but the description of the villanelle made my head spin - twice!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your reaction to the villanelle prompt. The form is scary to me and to write one in a week? No!!!! I like that you wrote a haiku instead!
ReplyDeleteLovely haiku...the tender leaves have been inspiring and I loved "fearless".
ReplyDeleteYes!
