Chess

Chess Grand Master Glen Bady came to Princeton on Saturday to play 20 amateurs simultaneously at our public library. The vibe was impressively cheerful for a roomful of people who knew they were about to get their hats handed to them.

It was especially exciting to see some of the smaller guys hanging in there and holding their own.

I see more chess in our future.

I never learned to play chess. Looks like maybe D is now in a position to teach me the game? I'm serious....

It's been years since I played chess, but I loved the game as a child and played whenever I could - often with adults. Now that I am retired, I fancy taking up the game again.

Hi Shelley! I just found your blog (through a Kappa email you sent a while back). Looks terrific - I love your writing.

Our kiddo J loves chess too, and can't wait till he can join chess club next year (2nd grade).
