Eight Things

Eight random facts about me (random is harder than it seems like it should be!):
  • I lived in upstate NY as a kid, but didn't learn to ski until I was in high school. And if it weren't for my friend Woody, who was similarly "behind," I might still be a non-skiier. Thanks, Woody!
  • I can only wink one eye, and that one not very well. My Oma was an incredible, equal-opportunity winker, but I didn't inherit that gift.
  • I haven't been bored since I learned how to read. (In our home we treat the words "bored" and "boring" as if they were extremely vile curse words.)
  • Names matter to me. For the longest time, I didn't like sourdough bread and cheesecake because they sounded horrible. (Now, of course, I love them both.)
  • I am actively trying to decrease the number of prized possessions in my life.
  • I have no pictures of my college graduation; my camera died that day.
  • My favorite animal is the otter.

(Thanks to Kelley for the assignment,
and to Getty's Moodstream for some inspiration.
I don't really do the "pass it on" part of memes,
but if you're so moved, consider yourself tagged.)

*I* have pictures of your graduation -- in albums and in my heart. Jim Henson got an honorary degree that day (and Stevie Wonder...and some academics who ONLY discovered a new way to look at protons or something...) And when Jim Henson went up to receive his degree, the entire graduating class burst into a warm, soft, "Can you tell me how to get, how to get to sesame Street?" Brown braniacs, all, and all raised on the show. (-:
