Autumn Haiku

Green has gone amber
And here comes autumn, trying
To blow through the light.

(For more autumn haiku, check out One Deep Breath.)

PS: This is post #201. Whoa.

Lovely haiku! I especially like the idea of autumn "trying to blow through the light." And congrats on your 201st post! Well done.

Shelley, I love this haiku - it captures so perfectly the changing seasons and the inexorable morphing of summer into autumn. Well done!!!

your haiku just sort of rolls off the tongue in a lackadaisical, serene way...very smooth indeed!

Congrats on post 201. That's a lot of writing!

Also, I just thought I'd let you know that it's still summer here. No leaves have begun to change, no mornings are cool. I got a terrific sunburn on my back over the weekend.

But, I sure miss the autumn further north. There is nothing quite as beautiful. Enjoy it for me!!

Beautiful lines about my favorite season.

agreeing with parisparfait; "trying to blow through the light" really brings up the thought of wind and pushing its way in.

That's a really unusual view of the theme - I enjoyed it very much

Friends, thank you for your kind comments. I thought writing a haiku was going to be the highlight of my Monday, but then y'all upped the ante!

Shelley, of course I would expect nothing less of you. Beautiful haiku. And of course this reminds me of our little ones and how they, too, are blowing through the seasons. Matches my mood of missing the green, while prodding me on: there's light out there, through amber, see? Come catch some with me!
