Storm Haiku

The birds were quiet,
their silence leaving space for
the song of the wind.

Afterwards, branches
laid on stunned earth, murmuring
hello's and goodbye's.

(Thanks to the women of One Deep Breath

it's often eerie when the birds are silent...but your haiku certainly puts a nice spin on the silence :-)

"stunned earth"

Beautiful. I keep going back to this line...

Both the photo and the picture you painted with words show the "calm after the storm"

These were wonderful! They made me sad but the little climber made me smile.

I like the hellos and goodbyes line, too. Good haiku.

you're right, the earth does seem stunned after a big storm

but the kids always find something to delight in, don't they

lovely job with the poems and the photo :)

"hello's and goodbye's"... so perfectly bittersweet, as is all of nature. Lovely Haiku and I especially love the photo.
