Crawly Haiku

One daddy longlegs
makes a mountain of our tent –
we watch from inside.

"Ants belong outside,"
he announces, fist gently
cradling one.

(Thanks to the women of One Deep Breath
for their continuing inspiration.)

I love the image of the daddy longlegs climbing your tent-mountain! Really nice. And your son saying "ants belong outside" while cradling one in his fist is really cute. He looks like a sweet kid, too!

I like the implication of not only camping, but family camping. I really like the image of the daddy longlegs climbing up the tent.

watching a granddaddy long legs move captures me every time. I followed one around my kitchen a couple of weeks ago...and wrote about one this week, too. Loved the image of watching him from inside a tent!

Love the first one - great to image what our everyday objects seem like to our insect friends.

Being able to watch a mountain climber in action. How lucky. Wonderful haiku. Love the gentle nature of your son.
