I always consider it a bit of good luck when I see a cardinal--I consider this one of those times! :) Great haiku once again!

Cardinals build their nests at about 5' off the ground, and once you know that they become a little easier to spot. (As least that's been true for me.)

I'm from Virginia. The cardinal is their state bird. I didn't see them very often though.

They don't migrate, do they? I'm not really sure.
